We had a fantastic tour of Beaune with Romain Bouchaud—a knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely friendly guide. The four hours we spent walking around the town flew by. Romain began by taking us into the extraordinary Maison Patriarche, one of the oldest and most historically significant wine cellars in the region. As we explored the labyrinth of caves, Romain brought the history of Beaune and its deep ties to wine to life with fascinating stories and insights.
The tour culminated in a wine tasting led by Pernille Skouboe. It was such an enjoyable experience that we ended up returning before leaving the region to pick up a few bottles! We also visited the famous Hospices de Beaune, which we absolutely loved, and wandered through the town’s charming streets, ramparts, and hidden corners—all with Romain’s thoughtful and enthusiastic commentary.
He was professional, enthusiastic, and full of great recommendations—including excellent restaurant tips. We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Beaune!

An excellent, informative and entertaining walk through Beaune!

The drive through the vineyards was not only breathtakingly beautiful but also brought to life by Romain’s captivating stories about the villages, vineyards, and winemakers.
